Dale Johnston – Canberra Raiders
What a week to be honest. The boys are back, after a long time off, and this year’s big boys have been better than expected! That being said, I’m hoping for a bit more from the back half of Canberra Raiders this year. I love to watch the boys who come through the youth ranks and we’ve seen a lot of these youngsters go on to make their careers on the professional ranks, but we’re going to need more than a handful of them to make a case for making the team this year. We’re not just going to be watching a group of good guys in camp like we did last season, we’re going to need that whole side to deliver their best all the way to the Super Rugby Round of 16! As far as the young guns, I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do. I’ve seen some great performances with a young side, and this is going to be a pretty tough test for them and everyone else to get a taste of, but let’s hope we can see a little bit more of them in the next couple of years. A big shout out to my boys who are doing fantastically, giving it their all, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we have in the next year!
